PENDIDIKAN MORAL PADA SIMBOLIK BALAI BUDAYA MELAYU SUMATERA UTARA

Abstract


Balai is a rectangular object at the side of the four-legged, containing sticky rice, grilled chicken, sweet heart, flag, boiled eggs, and flowers. The values in the symbolic philosophy are the following: the value of harmony is derived from sticky rice soft philosophy merges with another, and eaten with a sweet core bring flavor to match. Philosophy sacrifices the value derived from chicken meat that is on top of sticky rice. Unity comes from the merging philosophy namely egg white and yolk to become a single entity, and is a symbol of fertility at any time. Independence, which is a flag symbolizes philosophy of freedom for a child if they have married without being tied again with parents. The award, in the form of objectives, Balai is a tribute to another person or party. Moral values embodied in the symbolic Balai should be taught to anyone, most of all is to the children of learners, especially the generation of Malay as the owner of that culture. Moral education aimed to shape the personality of a person to be moral of human beings. A person does not behave morally because it is not in the plant as early as possible the moral values that exist in them, especially the culture surrounding them.
